We’re nearly four weeks into 2014, but I wanted to be sure that I featured this amazing wedding couple I had the privilege of photographing, Jill and Aaron.
I first featured these two back in October of 2013 when we did their engagement photos, and even then, I knew that these two were the ideal couple for me – totally fun, outgoing, up for ANYTHING, and just plain cool
I had met Aaron a few years ago when he came in to Cold Tofu to teach a few classes for us, sharing his immense skills in everything improv. Serious fun! Once I got the opportunity to meet his fiance Jill, I knew that these two were going to be great to work with
Now, I’ve photographed a lot of weddings, and sure they’re all different and unique in their own way, but this one had such a cool vibe that complimented Jill and Aaron so nicely. The entire day was pretty much a low key affair, filled with some pretty cool moments, from the uber-delightful, fun, and heartfelt ceremony, to the oh-so funny and poignant speeches made by the best man, maid of honor and bride’s parents. Plus, when it came to dinner, these two decided to go away from the norm and provide their guests with food made from food trucks! Yup, food trucks; REALLY good food trucks! and for me (and the rest of the guests, I’m sure), the piece de resistance, was the In n’ Out burger truck once the dancing got started. What?! And for an encore, instead of the traditional cake or more modern cup-cake servings, they had cookies! These huge, amazingly good cookies, complete with regular or chocolate milk! With straws! (I know, I’m easily won over). And for extra style points, all the guests were treated to cigars and some really good vodka/whiskey choices. If that wasn’t enough, for guest favors, each person was given an envelope with a lottery ticket with the hopes that they too hit it big, just as Jill and Aaron had with one another. Cool huh?
Heck, did I mention the Mariachi band?! Oh hells yeah!
I have to say that I truly enjoy every wedding I get to attend or photograph. Each one is so unique, and filled with great laughter, tears of joy, and fun, that you can’t really compare them. This one definitely will remain with me as one of the all time greats, but not only because of all the fun things and goodies provided, but, as usual, my couple, Jill and Aaron, were just a joy to work for and be around, making my “job” easy, and most definitely, one of the coolest ever! Thanks you guys
